Paterson is the county seat, and much of Passaic County's criminal system sits on two streets there: the courthouse at 77 Hamilton Street and the county administration building at 401 Grand Street, which houses the Prosecutor's Office and both the 12-hour and the Passaic/Essex 48-hour IDRC programs. NJ Transit's Main Line links Paterson, Clifton, and Passaic to the Newark area.
